JCCNF Meeting Minutes – June 2021

Minutes From June 26, 2021 JCCNF Meeting

Meeting started (more or less) on time at COOP 303, an excellent venue with particularly good food, and reserved parking for Jaguars out front.

We enjoyed a good turnout:

Gail and Dyaarl Anderson
Mellie and Craig Kerins
Tissa and Ed Lewis
Bob Fant
Richard Gray
Selena Smith
Barbara and Alan Andridge
Roger Wright
Robert and Charlie Delmar
Larry Snider
Catherine and Paul Schaefer
Maarten Rotman

The meeting was called to order around 12:45

Charlie Delmar (Robert’s twin brother) began the meeting as a guest, but left the meeting as our newest member!

Since our last meeting we have also had Laurie and Bob Cotherman join the club. They had planned to come to the meeting last week, but could not make the rescheduled one.

V.P. Report: Ed Lewis reported that the next P&P will be on July 10, at a place not yet finalized.

Membership / Treasurers Report: Bob Fant reported holdings of $3,631.31, plus we have identified an old inactive account of approximately $3,000. It was set up for club charitable giving and Gail Anderson can still write checks on this account. We will use these funds to augment our annual giving.

The club now has 88 members (89 after Charlie joined), attesting to our enduring strength.

Coventry Foundation Liaison: Gail Anderson reported this organization continues to thrive, with continuing donations of money, memorabilia, literature, and even cars. The Foundation will be closely associated with the Annual General Meeting of JCNA in August.

President’s Report: I had much to say about the many events on the horizon for members of our club.

1.) There will be a Judge Training Program July 10 in Venice, Florida. This is in preparation for the International Jaguar Festival (IJF) Concours D’Elegance to be held October 22 in Ft Myers. The Florida clubs are all cooperating to make this special show a spectacular success. There will be over 100 judged Jaguars and a virtual army of trained judges will be needed. It is by far the biggest and most prestigious Jaguar show in North America. In attendance there will be the Presidents of Jaguar Club of Southwest Florida, JCCNF, SunCoast, and the Jaguar Club of Florida. Judges and trainee judges are coming from all four clubs in hopes of creating the core of a team for the quickly approaching Concours. Of course all of our Judges are invited.

2.) THE JCNA Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in Columbia, SC August 26-28. This is our parent club’s important business meeting. Concours rules changes, policy changes and finances will be discussed ( and debated). There will also be festivities at the nearby Coventry Foundation offering an opportunity for us to see the fabulous resources this organization has accumulated. Each club is allotted 2 voting Delegates. Jay Lander is one delegate. I have an opening for one more person. If any one is interested please contact me. It will give you a whole new perspective on our automotive hobby as well as giving you an opportunity to influence its future direction. As a member of the Board of Directors I also get a vote, and will have proxy votes from some of the other clubs. I truly hope someone steps up to take advantage of the remaining club delegate spot.

3.) The IJF is JCNA’s premier annual event There are banquets every evening, a tour of the fabulous REV Museum, and an evening dinner cruise as well as a scenic cruise, a rally, and a slalom. The highlight will be the Friday (Oct 22) Concours D’Elegance. The last IJF was in Santa Barbara, the next one will be in Texas, and then back to California. This is the best opportunity all of us will have for a long time to attend this wonderful festival.

  1. The Ponte Vedra Auto Show takes place Nov 14. This year they are planning on having a dedicated area for our club to hold a concours. We are planning on a non-sanctioned, fun show. A big turnout is needed if this concept is to take root and grow. It is my hope that virtually everyone in the club will shine up their car and show it off at this event.

Information on all of these events are on our JCCNF website or the JCNA website. If there are questions, I can probably answer most of them.

The virus is on the run, and it is time to be active in Jaguar activities again. I may have one more Judge Training Session in the summer or early fall in case some of our judges with lapsed credentials or perhaps some new judges are interested. Contact me if you would like to become an active, certified judge.
